Car crashes happen all the time. However good a driver you are, it can be hard to avoid them altogether. While one report found the average person has a one in 93 chance of dying in a crash in their lifetime, most people will have a few more minor collisions. Even these can cause injury and leave a person needing compensation.
Photos can be a big help in showing why a crash happened. If you can show that, and show that it was more the other driver’s fault than yours, you have a better chance of getting the compensation you may need. However, not just any photo will do. Certain ones are going to help your case much more. For example:
Photos of your injuries
Did your injuries occur in the crash or later? While you may know the crash caused them, insurers sometimes dispute this. A photo of the injury at the scene reduces the chance they will try.
Photos of your vehicle and the other vehicle
Drivers sometimes take their cars away from the scene and quickly get the damage patched up. Photos of the damage to each vehicle can help pinpoint who hit who and from what angle. This can help clarify where the fault lies.
Photos of the conditions
Drivers and their insurers don’t always tell the truth. They might claim conditions were worse than they were, to make excuses for not seeing you or being able to stop in time. If you have a photo of the conditions at the time it can show that their failure to see you or stop in time was more likely down to distraction than atmospheric conditions, for example.
Once you have these photos, you can pass them to a legal representative to see if they can use them to build your case for any compensation due.
